Starting the microphone check means you agree to the following. You can also answer with text.
Collection and use
We transcribe microphone test recordings and spoken answers, and summarize your answers. We also check input quality and speech activity. Your voice is not used to identify you or infer emotions or health.
Retention and download
Test audio is deleted after checking. Answer audio is automatically deleted within 7 days. Transcripts and summaries follow the response retention period stated for the study. Researchers with permission to access and export identifiable responses can download audio before deletion and are responsible for those copies.
Audio processing
We use Microsoft MAI Transcribe 2 through OpenRouter for transcription and an OpenAI model for transcript summaries. Audio or transcripts are sent to these services for processing. See the provider documents below for processing locations and retention policies.
